WooCommerce migration

Move your WooCommerce shop with a plan for your data and SEO

We move products, customers and orders with our own importer and redirect the old links, while the old shop keeps selling until the new one is ready. The first step is a free assessment of your shop.

We move

  • Products, variants and images
  • Customers with their passwords
  • Orders with the same numbers
  • Coupons, reviews and translations
  • 301 redirects for old links
  • No break in sales

How products, customers and orders are moved

The importer reads from WooCommerce through its API and changes nothing in the old shop. At the end you get a report: the record counts in WooCommerce and in ShoppyBa, and the order totals, which must match to the cent.

Products
Simple, variable and grouped products. Variants with prices, sale prices, stock, SKUs and weight, descriptions and every image.
Categories and attributes
The category tree with images, tags, attributes and related products (upsells and cross-sells).
Customers
Accounts with addresses. With an export of the WordPress users, customers sign in with the same passwords as before.
Orders
Lines, shipping, discounts, taxes, refunds and notes. Order numbers stay the same, and new orders continue from the last one.
Coupons and reviews
Coupons with their restrictions and reviews with their approval status. Product ratings are recalculated.
Translations and pages
Category and product translations from WPML or Polylang, and WordPress pages.

Subscriptions, bookings and memberships aren't moved automatically. If you use them, we'll tell you in the assessment how to handle them.

How we keep your Google rankings

The biggest risk in any migration is old links that end on an error page. That's why redirects are part of the plan from day one, not something fixed afterwards.

  1. 1

    A list of old addresses

Before the move we list the addresses Google and customers use: products, categories, pages and, with your access, the links in Google Search Console.

  2. 2

    Permanent (301) redirects

Every product, category and page gets a 301 redirect from its old address to the new one. The same goes for cart, checkout and account pages.

  3. 3

    The same domain

The shop stays on your domain, and we switch it to the new shop only once you've checked everything. Until then the old WooCommerce keeps running.

  4. 4

    Monitoring after the move

We submit the new sitemap to Search Console and watch for errors in the first weeks. Any address that slipped through gets redirected by hand.

Example redirects

  • /product/ceramic-mug/301/bs/p/ceramic-mug
  • /product-category/kitchen/mugs/301/bs/c/kitchen/mugs
  • /en/product/ceramic-mug/301/en/p/ceramic-mug

What happens to payments, shipping and integrations

In the assessment we go through every plugin you use and tell you what ShoppyBa already has built in and what needs its own solution.

Payments
Monri, Stripe and PayPal are connected to your existing accounts. Cash on delivery and bank transfer work straight away. If your payment provider needs the new addresses registered, we do it together with you.
Shipping
Shipping zones and rates are set up as they are today. If you use a courier plugin, we'll tell you in the assessment how to handle it on the new shop.
VAT and currencies
VAT for Bosnia, Croatia, Serbia and the EU (OSS), and prices in BAM, EUR or USD, without extra plugins.
Integrations
A Google Shopping feed, a cookie consent banner, and push and Viber order notifications are built in. For ERP, fiscalisation and other systems we make a plan in the assessment.

Frequently asked questions

You shouldn't. Every old product, category and page link gets a permanent (301) redirect, and after the move we watch for errors in Search Console. Google also weighs page speed in its rankings, and that's where the new shop gains.
